Wendy Wendy!

I love Wendy Williams, and I mean I have been a big fan of Wendy's since her days on WBLS in New York. She was always a mystery to me, I wondered how her hair was styled and what was her appetite for fashion behind the airwaves back in the day. She seemed to always be in the know and kept her listeners up-to-date on her weekend slumber parties or the craziest run-ins she would have with notorious celebrities.

Well when 2009 arrived and I found out that Wendy Williams was going to have her own show on the national level, I was a was so proud of this lady; but it was also an opportunity for me to get to discover the whole Wendy Williams experience. When Wendy aired for the first week I was like wow! First of all I didn't know that Wendy was such an 'Amazon' a beautiful 'Amazon', but a 'Amazon' nonetheless. LOL!
Wendy Williams hairstyles come up in conversation at my salon all the time, along with discussions about Oprah's and Beyonce hair. So this is what we're talking about in Macon,Georgia.....A lot of Georgians are not even familiar with Wendy because her radio shows were not in many southern states. Now since she's on air some of my clients opinions are split but they can definitely tell you about her hair.
Wendy was the complete opposite of what I always envisioned her style to be, it was better. I always envisioned Wendy to be an 'Around-The -Way-Girl', you know like the ones that L.L. Cool J described in his old hit. Like Mary J. Blige, Fergie, Foxy Brown, or Lil Kim. However she was like a sophisticated Around-The -Way -Girl, with her 5-6 inch heels, tight 'Jersey Girl Club' dresses, and diamonds that shine like hi-beams coming from a car.

Wendy's look is always great but, recently the hairstyles have been switching up too much. Like for instance, we're all used to her long blonde layers she is known to rock, either straight or wavy;but then she switched to the shoulder length cut with the caramel blonde hue. I was really feeling the shorter look, it made her look more realistic for 'daytime' television. But then Wendy went back! I was like, "why"?

So, Wendy Wendy, the next time you want to change your fabulous hairstyle for your loyal fans and spectators.......take a poll!

I know your a strong, independent, and secure woman but your look is forever changing, make it interesting for the viewers and take a poll for your next new look. I look forward to voting!

Love you Wendy Wendy!!!

Salon Talk.....Summer's Hottest Fashion!

Yeah, I know it's not officially summer, but it's sure hot enough at the moment to convince me otherwise. Summer 2010 is definitely going to be a combustion of many fashion fusions that will work well with your swagger. Here are some fashion pieces and hairstyles that I will be hot on the list with many of the clients that I see in the salon, upcoming Atlanta Bronner Bros. hair show, and even in the media.

1. "When in Rome"- as the old saying goes do what the Romans do or just rack up on some sexy Roman style sandles, heels, thongs, and slides. The Roman sandals are being fused with various fashions this summer. These sandals were a big hit last summer and their continuing their rain in summer 2010. So get Roman!

2. Long Cotton Dresses- these dresses are cute and sexy at the same time, their cute with whatever tank you can pair the dress with, the only thing about this cute fashion statement is to make sure the long cotton dress is not too long and it's also flattering to your silhouette.
3. 'The Aviators'- The Aviator shades have ruled for the last two summers along with some Ray Bans. The Aviator's are my favorite (I own a pair myself) and their a clean look that compliments any style clothing you may happen to rock. I also like the Aviator's because their unisex, so ladies don't be mad when your man borrows your Aviator's this summer...he can do that this season..lol

4. M.C. Braid Master- You can rock your braid style anyway you like it! Right now i'm really feeling the tiny cornrows, Mohawks, Susan Taylor, and Locs. Weaves are beautiful but don't forget to incorporate your braid patterns along with the sew-in styles.

5. Smell Fresh- Perfumes, body sprays, mists, toilettes, bronzers, and body creams. Ditch the heavy make-up and let your natural skin glow. Concealer is a great alternative to heavy foundations to cover blemishes, and Shea Butter is a great moisturizer to utilize for healthy glowing summer skin. Olive Oil and Coco Butter are great with light fragrances added to them

6. Let's Work Out?- Yes, i'm definitely out of shape and the winter blahs did not help too motivate me to lose the extra pounds. Like many of you who did not have a chance to lose the weight and gain the curves in the winter and spring seasons. This is a great time to workout during the summer evenings, the warm temperature along with plenty of water will help you to lose the pounds faster than in cool weather (think about a hot sauna after a workout...sweat helps with the loss of water weight). This is also a great way to keep the children in shape during their summer break.
